El Bigotes Mexican Grill: Authentic Mexican Flavors in Abingdon, VA

Some of the best Mexican food I've had since moving from Arizona! I had the beef fajitas, and they didn't disappoint! When I first arrived, I was greeted with a friendly smile and warm gestures to my table of choice. I was immediately asked what drink I'd like, and I ordered a margarita on the rocks with plenty of a salt rim. Delicious, it tasted as if it were made in the baja. Next, I received chips and dip, and while the red salsa was a little too spicy for me, the chips were a very welcome snack. I then ordered the beef fajitas, and they came on a sizzling hotplate that I was instructed not to touch, as it was clearly very hot. This was accompanied by 2 warm flour tortillas wrapped in foil (to stay warm and pliable), and the traditional accouterments of fresh guacamole, sour cream, shredded lettuce, tomato, and some delicious spanish rice and refried beans. Needless to say, I devoured everything as fast as I could roll it up in the warm tortillas. It was so fresh, delicious and seasoned perfectly! I also had plenty of leftovers. Attentive servers (mine was Jose), savory drinks and fantastic food make this a place worth looking up the next time you're in Abingdon. I will definitely be back, many many times! We had been here a couple of weeks ago and really liked if so we stopped in again for an early dinner on a Wednesday and a few people were there. We we were quickly seated and our drink order taken. My wife got the chicken chimichangas (not fried) and said they were very good. I intended to get the Torta El Pastor but they were out of bread. As a result, I got the Texan Fajita Nachos which were excellent. Lots of chicken, steak, shrimp, peppers, onions and cheese. The service was very good. The total with two Dos Equis was & 43.

Y’all this is an authentic diamond in the rough. The prices are fair and the food was delicious I had a stuffed pepper and grilled chicken quesadilla yummy. Go check them out and bring your friends. Quick service. Nice workers

Stopped in while traveling. Seated right away. Service was great and food came out fresh and hot. We had fajitas tejanas, steak and rice, and burrito. My family and I enjoyed our visit.

I had a nice lunch. It was late in the afternoon so the place wasn't very busy. The service was prompt. One waiter covered the whole place. I liked that the music wasn't blaring loudly like it so often is in other such restaurants! The place appeared nice and clean, as did the men's room. I wasn't in any big hurry and I took my time eating my meal. My #3 was tasty, and I ate every bit! I'll be back!

Best Mexican restaurant in the area! Me and my boyfriend eat here quite frequently, and we’ve never had bad service or bad food. The wait staff is friendly and attentive even when super busy. The food tastes great and is super affordable. We love El Bigotes!
